Oil, 9" x 12", Nancy Wernersbach©2010
Had a great day painting outdoors with the Art League of Nassau County Plein Air group. We trekked out to the rustic and beautiful north fork of Long Island to the Martha Clara Vineyard. The folks a the vineyard couldn't have been nicer. Instead of grapes I turned to the field of sunflowers and wildflowers, but like a fool I was standing out in the blazing sun (heck, it's been a hot summer). Had a hat, but no umbrella for the painting & me which was a mistake. It's really rough to see the colors on your canvas when the sun's hitting it full force and having my feet and arms cooking in the sun was not fun either. Must get an umbrella to clip on my guerilla box. Must say I love my 9 x 12 Guerilla Painter box. It's a chunky little thing--not as sleek and pretty as the Easy L or Open M easels, but everything except the brushes fits inside, even the finished painting & it's sturdy and just heavy enough to withstand the wind blowing across the field.
Happy Painting!
Nancy
