Another example of just go ahead and enter a show--I submitted this painting to the online Garden Art Competition by Horticulture Magazine--I think I saw it advertised in either Artist's Magazine or Watercolor Artist Magazine--and it got accepted! Though not one of the award winners, this painting is being used in their advertising for the 2011 competition, so that was a nice perk for my painting. Also all art is featured in the Horticulture 2011 Limited-Edition 13-month Calendar available at gardenershub.com. Thanks to Horticulture Magazine for featuring the artists' impressions of flowers & gardens; florals seem out of fashion in many of the juried art exhibits right now--portraits & landscapes rule the shows in my opinion. Its great to have a place to exhibit beautiful floral & garden paintings by many talented artists.
